Puerto Princesa, known as “the cleanest and greenest city in the Philippines”, is a vastly different experience from Manila big-city dynamism. It combines a laid-back vibe with beautiful sandy beaches and a wealth of marine life. You can enjoy the sights of the city itself like the Immaculate Conception Cathedral; the Palawan Heritage Center, which displays local artworks and crafts; and the peaceful Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village. You may want to head to nearby Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park itself contains eight different forest ecosystems and you can take a boat ride on its underground river viewing magnificent rock formations.
Puerto Princesa is also know for the beaches and islands scattered around scenic Honda Bay — perfect for snorkeling, sunbathing and picnics.
