Along the way to totality — which you’ll watch onboard or disembark and watch from the Sofitel Winter Palace’s (Wikipedia) century-old Royal Gardens (slide show) — you can enrich your eclipse experience with our LECTURES program.

Plus, Insight Cruises offers you an optional program of excursions to a choice selection of the Nile River region’s monuments, temples, and tombs. We’ll be on the lookout for specific astronomical features while visiting other sites not tied to the sky yet still looming large in the world’s imagination. Luxor and Karnak temples, the Valleys of the Kings & Queens, the wondrous sites of Dendara, Abydos, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and more are on our excursion agenda.

OVERVIEW AND PRICING

Pricing for a 233 square-foot cabin is $11,475 per person, based on double occupancy for our 17-night (15 night cruise plus two nights in our pre-cruise hotel) event. For more info/options, please visit the CABIN & SHIP INFO tab. All meals are included (excluding breakfast on your day of arrival and lunch and dinner on your day of departure). Also included: transfers from airport-to-hotel, hotel-to-ship, and ship-to-airport on August 13; and, all taxes & gratuities. For those wishing to attend our extensive Ancient Egypt LECTURES PROGRAM there is a $1,750 fee.

Add on our optional 15-day TOURING PACKAGE ($3,850 pp for 35+ separate site visits where small groups (where necessary, as in visiting deeply buried tombs) will be accompanied by a professional/Egyptologist tour guide (all entrance fees — some quite substantial for the unique access we will provide — as well as “gifts” for official gatekeepers, are included).
