Joe Kissell is the best-selling, award-winning, hyphen-overusing author of numerous print and electronic books about Apple products, and a popular speaker at Mac-themed events. He’s the Senior Editor of TidBITS, a senior contributor to Macworld, and a member of the MacTech 25 list (the 25 people voted most influential in the Macintosh community). Joe has worked in the Mac software industry since the early 1990s, including positions managing software development for Nisus Software and Kensington Technology Group. After more than five years in Paris, he now lives in San Diego, California with his wife, son, and cat.
Lex Friedman is a senior writer for Macworld. He's also a regular contributor to The Magazine. Lex formerly wrote for TidBITS, and is the author of Teach Yourself iTunes Match in 10 Minutes and Mac Basics for Windows Refugees. He's also the author of a pair of humor books: The Snuggie Sutra and the Dr. Seuss parody for adults The Kid in the Crib. Before joining Macworld, Lex co-founded the diet-tracking website The Daily Plate, which now powers livestrong.com. Lex lives in New Jersey with his wife and three young children.
Lynne C. Lancaster is a Professor in the Department of Classics and World Religions at Ohio University and specializes in ancient Roman construction and technology. She has degrees in both architecture (B.Arch., Virginia Tech) and Classical Archaeology (Ph.D., Oxford University). She was a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome in 2001–2002 and has written articles on major monuments in Rome, such as the Colosseum, Trajan’s Markets, and the Pantheon, and has published a book entitled Concrete Vaulted Construction in Imperial Rome: Innovations in Context (Cambridge University Press 2005), which was the recipient of the James Wiseman book award from Archaeological Institute of America in 2007. She is currently working on a sequel entitled Innovative Vaulted Construction in the Roman Imperial Provinces, for which she was awarded a National Science Foundation grant in 2007 and subsequently has traveled throughout the ancient Roman world documenting building methods used to construct their most impressive structures. In 2010 she was elected onto Governing Board of the Archaeological Institute of America. She is an active public lecturer to groups throughout the country
Sal Soghoian is widely touted as “the” AppleScript Guru and driving force behind the continued expansion and acceptance of AppleScript. He began scripting in 1992, after discovering AppleScript could automate the publishing-related tasks at his service bureau. After spending years as an early “online evangelist,” Sal continued to serve the AppleScript community as the AppleScript Product Manager at Apple. Throughout his tenure, AppleScript’s importance, use, and integration has grown, becoming the indispensable tool for automation and communication on the Mac.
