Brian
Aker has been involved with different net communities long before the web took the Internet to it's current heights. He is currently works on the MySQL Database Engine and spends the rest of his time working on Apache, MySQL and Perl modules, which include mod_layout and the Apache streaming services module, mod_mp3. He recently coauthored the Running Weblogs with Slash book for O'Reilly. In the past, he has been involved with projects ranging from creating datawarehouses for the Army Engineer Corps to The Virtual Hospital, which was one of the first and largest online medical repositories. He spent several years working on the Slash site engine for Slashdot. He currently works for MySQL as a Senior Architect and teaches the perl certification course at the University of Washington. He lives in Seattle, Washington with his dog Rosalynd.
Kaj Arnö, is the creator of the MySQL training program. In his career,
Kaj has trained more than 2,000 IT users and developers at about 200
training classes across Europe, the US and Asia. With successful track
record in consulting assignments, often serving customers in their
respective native languages, Kaj leads the localization efforts of
MySQL AB. Prior to joining MySQL AB in June 2001, Kaj was founder and
CEO of the Finnish solution provider Polycon Ab.

David Axmark, one of the founders of MySQL AB, was involved with the MySQL database well before it had a name. David now writes MySQL code and documentation, and he promotes the database at conferences and other venues throughout the world. David has worked as a consultant and software developer for nearly 20 years. Interested in free software since the early '80s, David is committed to developing a successful business model through open source software.
Larry
Stefonic brings years of successful database business experience to MySQL AB. Prior to MySQL, Larry was in charge of Worldwide Embedded Sales at Mbrane in Seattle, Washington. He has also led international sales and business development teams at Centura Software, Raima Corporation and Micro Database Systems.
Michael "Monty" Widenius is the designer and lead programmer for the MySQL database. His database software programming dates back to 1978 and his work with TCX DataKonsult AB, to 1981. Since 1995, Monty has been the primary force behind MySQL, devoting his time to product strategies, software design, and the development and reviewing of MySQL source code.
